This is the Big Blue Crab and it has quite a history. It originally first stook outside of the Del Mar Grill in Rockport and was then moved to the Rockport Veterans Memorial Park in 1966. It survived numerous hurricans and then became a bit of an eyesore. The latest version of the crab was rebuilt and stood at the entrance of Rockport Beach. It was designed by Rockport artist David Allgood. The Crab was not as lucky after Hurricane Harvey and was completely destroyed. There are a lot of fundraisers currently going on to help raise funds to rebuild The Big Blue Crab. I love this big guy and have taken a zillion pictures standing under this beautiful creation.***sold, all proceeds to the Big Blue Crab Fundraiser
