On Thursday, May 4thUnited Way Campaign Chair Joe Gorder, unveiled the 2017 campaign theme and poster art, Heart of the Community, created by local artist Patti Schermerhorn.
Influenced by history of the city around her, Schermerhorns art style is vibrant and full of texture. She paints with a signature mosaic, layering style. Her art symbolizes the pride we have in our citypast, present and future.
Just as United Way brings people together for the common good, Schermerhorns art also brings us together, sending a message of hope, touching hearts, and bringing color into what can be a very monotone period of struggle for some.
