Description
This is another rendition of the Arneson Theatre. I love painting this scene. I actually learned a bit of history painting this one that I'd like to share. The bridge was dedicated to Rosita Fernandez, a pioneer of Tejano music who performed for almost 25 years at the theatre. The design of the outdoor theatre was supervised by architect Robert H.H. Hugman. His signature is throughout downtown San Antonio's landscape of beautiful buildings. Many years later the bell towers were added and named after Edwin Arneson, who was instrumental in securing funding for our beautiful Paseo del Rio....The Riverwalk.
